Our journey as a family began together in Salt Lake City within 'The Mountains of the Lord'. The very first day there the girls and Wayne were able to do some baptisms in the Salt Lake Temple. What a great way to start the trip.
I was most excited that the children could be with us here as I have so many fond memories of Utah and wanted to share some special places with them. I had spent almost a year at school in Provo before I was married, so I was eager to relive some of those memories with my family.
What a way to start our trip together with our attending all sessions of General Conference in the Conference Centre. We are so lucky to have this opportunity, because the saints in Utah generally never get to attend any session in the Conference Centre. It was appreciated by us all and will be in our memories forever.

While Wayne was in meetings the following week the children and I enjoyed ourselves with some shopping, sightseeing and visiting. We drove out to Park City and indulged in the Outlet Malls there, we explored Salt Lake, Temple Square, and drove to some Pioneer sites. We then went down to Provo for a couple of days and visited my friend Lindey. I took the girls up to Sundance (where I learnt to ski), BYU (where Dallan has decided he wants to attend University), a tour of the Church movie lot where they filmed a lot of the scenes for Joseph: The Prophet of the Restoration (and other church productions), and of course some more shopping. The highlight was seeing the Joseph Smith movie at the Joseph Smith Building. It seemed to set the whole mood for the rest of the trip.
